Living Beyond Breast Cancer Teleconference Covered Employment Rights After Diagnosis
Our July teleconference discussed the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on your work life

LBBC hosted renowned attorney Rodney N. Warner, Esq., at our July teleconference, Working Matters: What You Need to Know.
Mr. Warner, of the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, Inc., discussed the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on your work life. He explained your rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family Medical Leave Act and gave more information on employment issues. Mr. Warner also discussed ways to negotiate conflict and handle workplace discrimination when it occurs. During this teleconference, you will learn useful strategies for communicating with your colleagues to help improve your working environment and provide a smooth transition into the workplace after an extended absence.
About Our Speaker
Rodney N., Warner, Esq., is the project attorney for the Law & Health Initiative for Cancer Survivors. Mr. Warner has been an attorney since 1994 and has practiced law in private practice, state government and nonprofit organizations in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. He worked for 10 years with the State of Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities investigating and mediating employment discrimination. Mr. Warner, a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor, counsels and represents cancer survivors under a project partially funded by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
