A Night to Honor: The 2010 Butterfly Ball

The Butterfly Ball is a way for LBBC to pay tribute to, recognize and honor women affected by breast cancer and those who make a difference in the breast cancer community

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) will host our annual fundraising gala, The Butterfly Ball. By being a part of it, you can help us raise more money than ever to support women and families affected by breast cancer. Last year, this event raised more than $500,000, enabling us to continue programs like our toll-free Survivors’ Helpline, large-scale conferences and free teleconferences. Our top-quality programs and publications reach thousands of women affected by breast cancer every year.

This year’s Butterfly Ball, co-chaired by Liz Barrett, Heidi and Jim Boudreau and Audrey Claire Taichman, will pay tribute to honorees Lisa Dautrich Black, JoAnn Cottman, Leslie Taichman and Sue Weldon. The honorees, like butterflies, have journeyed through the trials and tribulations of their breast cancer diagnosis and have found a compassionate way to give back to other women affected by breast cancer. In addition, Chico’s FAS, Inc., which operates well-known apparel brands White House | Black Market, Chico’s and Soma Intimates, will be presented with the 2010 Corporate Leadership Award.

This year’s event will be held at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Center City Philadelphia, and will treat nearly 600 of Philadelphia's business and social leaders to spectacular views, exquisite food and dancing. A limited auction full of one-of-a-kind and priceless items and a drawing featuring dozens of fabulous prizes will contribute to the evening’s success. This year’s auction prizes include an African safari, a week’s stay at a private villa in St. Barts and a pair of diamond drop earrings valued at over $20,000. There will also be many other getaways, dinners, sports items, home accessories and lots of shopping opportunities!

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to win a 14-karat white-gold diamond bracelet valued at more than $17,000 and a relaxing escape package for two at an exclusive spa resort valued at $1,800 during our Grand Prize Drawing.
