Sponsored By: Howard Brown Health Center, Lesbian Community Cancer Project of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago

Participate in the LGBT Cancer Survivor Survey.

Several Chicago-area organizations seek lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender survivors of breast and other cancers to participate in an online survey focusing on their needs. The organizations will use results from the LGBT Cancer Survivor Survey to establish a cancer survivor center.

This online study takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Your responses will be anonymous. At the end of the survey, you will be given the option to provide your e-mail address to enter a drawing for a $50 Visa gift card. However, survey results will be analyzed as a group: no answers will correspond to specific e-mail addresses.

Who Can Participate?

You may take part in this research study if you:

  • Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender
  • Have had breast cancer or another type of cancer at any time in your life

How Will the Researchers Use the Information?

Researchers from the Howard Brown Health Center, Lesbian Community Cancer Project and the University of Illinois at Chicago will analyze the data to plan programs for a cancer survivor center for LGBT cancer survivors. The data will also help healthcare practitioners learn about the unique issues of LGBT people living with cancer to help improve quality of care.
